No, I haven’t taken leave of my senses. We’re talking about the Congregational Sabbatical being offered by St. Timothy’s to any of its members who are feeling the need of one.
PK’s sabbatical is good only for 7 weeks. But YOURS could last 6 months or more. Maybe you’re the Treasurer, or the Chairman of the Stewardship Committee, or an Altar Guilder. Heck, if the pastor can take a sabbatical, why not the congregation? …why not you?
The only pre-requisite is that you abide by the same sabbatical rules that you’ve asked PK to honor: namely, that your sabbatical be a time for Rest, Refreshment, and Rejuvenation; and, that you then return to your job.
It could be very important that you at least EXPLORE this idea and what it could mean. Therefore, I’m really hoping you’ll take one of the following two opportunities to do the little Bible study that led PK to this idea of a congregational sabbatical:
—Sunday, April 25, after worship …OR
—Thursday, April 29, at 7 pm.
Please plan to engage this hour-and-a-half of study (and discussion).
Baptized, and still learning
